Preparing Your RV To Sell

We are currently in an “RV buyer’s market” (more RVs for sale than there are buyers), so you will need every advantage you can to sell your RV and get the most money. I can help greatly improve your RV’s “salability” and value. One of the services I provide is to come to your RV, assess its status, and do my best to get it ready to sell, improving your RV’s value and chances of selling quickly.

What It Costs

Travel Trailer, Pop-Up, or Pickup Camper $299*
5th Wheel $359*
Class B or C Motorhome $379*
Class A or Super C Motorhome $399*

*Prices include up to 20 miles of travel from my location to your RV (see “Where’s Kevin” to the right or below), each additional mile is $1.75 more.

What IS Included:

-Up to 2 hours of my time.

-A 50-item wellness evaluation, documenting how each item is performing per the manufacturer’s intentions and parameters. Each item will be given a status grade, and recommendations for remedy if the item fails or gets a low grade. Examples are roof membrane, seals, exterior windows and seals, DC system & battery, AC electrical and outlets, hitch, jacks, stabilizers, slide-outs, refrigerator, water heater, furnace, air conditioner, filters (to name a few).

-Evaluate the state of maintenance of the RV items requiring periodic maintenance, and proper manufacturer’s recommended product(s) were used.

-Verify each safety item is current, up to date, and operational. Every RV has at least 5 safety items, and I verify each is not past its expiration date and is working properly.

-Suggestions for you to remedy any deficient items above, including links to Amazon or retailers for replacement, or products to use, that you can do yourself.

-My BJC RV Consulting, LLC signature on the above report, which will give a potential purchaser more of a piece of mind, adding value to your RV.

What’s NOT included:

-Cleaning. I do not do any cleaning of the exterior or interior of your RV.

-Evaluate the Engine/Drivetrain/Brakes and similar or any resulting work. Those items should be evaluated and/or performed by a qualified automotive or truck Mechanic.

-Invasive investigations. This is non-invasive and “visual” only. This means I will not disassemble anything (unless needed for remedy or repair). For example, I won’t take apart a wall to check a 5th wheel for a cracked or broken frame, or drop the underbelly to check the insulation.

-Pricing your RV. We can look up and discuss what similar RV’s are listed for and make suggestions accordingly, but I do not appraise and/or value your RV.

What Else I Can Do:

-Repair or replace items not meeting the manufacturer’s intentions, per your approval. (Parts and Labor are extra per my Labor Rate)

-Provide a Safety and Wellness Overview (2-page report) to include with your selling photos or documents, usually after all the above items have been addressed (additional fee, contact me for a quote). Or,

-Provide a full Premium Inspection 120+ page report with over 120 photos (additional fee, contact me for a quote).

Listing Your RV For Sale

-I can list your RV for sale (not consignment) for you. For a $300 fee plus 8% of the selling price. I can photograph & video your RV and list it on the most popular sales sites and appropriate social media groups. I can answer responses in good faith on your behalf and coordinate viewings. Always keeping you in the loop.

I frequently get asked if I know of anyone selling a good used “_________” RV, either for them or a friend/relative. I keep track of those inquiries and will check with them if your RV is appropriate.

Additional Comments

I reserve the right to refuse to prepare or sell any RV I deem “troublesome.”

My rule of thumb is to avoid selling RVs over 15 years of age, but there are some exceptions.

If I list your RV for sale, the title must be clean and any liens removed.

If I list your RV for sale, I will provide an “RV Listing Agreement” to protect us both.

I will do my best to get your RV ready to sell, or sell your RV and get you the best price possible quickly, but there are no guarantees.

Payment will be coordinated by me, but executed/completed by you and the purchaser.

I will help you with the transfer of the Title and a Bill of Sale.
